The first two weeks after shipping are about building roots and acclimating to your home, not growing leaves. Follow these strict rules to avoid stressing your new plant:
💡 Mild to Wild Studio Pro Tip: How To Increase Humidity
If you need to increase humidity for your plant, you can do so by placing Saran wrap around the top of the pot or place your plant inside a clear plastic storage container with the lid closed.
💡 Mild to Wild Studio Pro Tip: Cold Weather Arrivals
❄️ If your plant arrived cold, do not shock it with immediate heat. Allow it to slowly reach room temperature naturally before placing it into your warm, humid growing area.
Watering is highly dependent on the medium your plant is growing in. Always check the medium before watering.
Shipping is stressful for live plants. It is completely normal to experience the following as your plant adjusts to its new home:
⚠️ When should I worry?
Please text us immediately at 404-333-8184 or email us at info@mtwstudio.com if your plant arrives with a soft stem, a mushy rhizome, a foul odor, or experiences complete collapse.
Your plant is guaranteed to arrive alive and in good condition. In the unlikely event you experience serious issues, please contact us immediately and we will make it right!
Note: The following instructions apply STRICTLY to unrooted, freshly imported plants. If you purchased an established, rooted plant from Mild to Wild Studio, please refer to the General Care instructions above.
Fresh imports require an extra level of specialized care while they recover from international transit and re-establish their root systems.
🚨 Mild to Wild Pro Tip: Preventing Import Rot
The moss should feel barely damp, not wet. Too much water is the #1 reason fresh imports rot. Before you water, ask yourself: Are there healthy roots? Is the medium actually dry?
